How To Grow Your Business During A Pandemic
I already know what you’re thinking.
“There’s no way I can possibly grow my event business during a pandemic.”
Sounds impossible, right? Especially when we break down the challenges of 2020:
-
Financial obstacles
-
Physical obstacles
-
Mental/Emotional obstacles
I’m willing to bet that you’ve had clients who want their deposits back.
I’m also willing to bet that you’ve spent countless (unpaid) hours playing the liaison between clients and venues, clients and vendors, clients and guests, and on and on and on.
You’ve had gatherings limited or canceled outright.
You’ve been afraid to tell clients no in fear of getting a negative review.
You’ve had to deal with pandemic fatigue, trying to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy.
You’ve likely felt unmotivated, tired, scared, lonely, and uncertain.
And, here I am, telling you that you can not only grow your business during this time, but I’m telling you that it can actually flourish.
It’s true.
And it’s more than possible. Many of my wedding and creative event professionals in my coaching program have already done it. How?
It starts with a mindset shift, a reminder of who YOU are.
Wedding and event professionals are, by our very nature, creative individuals. Deep down, you already have the tools you need to adapt and overcome this year’s challenges.
You’ve already dealt with events where there has been a wrench thrown in the day. You’ve dealt with last-minute changes and unforeseen catastrophes. You’ve adapted, you’ve overcome. You continue to do it time and time again.
The question is—what will you do now? What do you need to do within your business that you’ve been putting off?
Do you need to
-
Redo your website?
-
Brand yourself?
-
Discover the type of events that really excite and motivate you?
-
Understand who your perfect client is and how to find them?
-
Take time to look inward and reflect on where you want your business to go? Understand and hone in on your own personal magic sauce?
The way to break out of this pandemic fatigue and catapult your business is to set goals. Start small and then tackle bigger and bigger tasks.
Think of the debt snowball method. When someone has debt, it is recommended that they pay off the accounts starting with the smallest balances first, while paying the minimum payment on larger debt. Eventually, their efforts will result in a snowball effect by taking care of small accounts first and then moving onto bigger ones.
Try applying the same mindset to your business, starting with your smallest goals first and working away at them. Once you start seeing progress, you’ll gain momentum for those bigger tasks hanging over you. Focus on shifts and goals instead of roadblocks.
I challenge you, right now, to create 4 goals for your business.
A goal you’ll accomplish…
-
90 days from now
-
In the year 2021
-
5 years from now
-
10 year from now
If you’re ready to transform your business, but don’t know how to start accomplishing those goals, I can help. Not sure what those steps even are? This is precisely what I do. Let’s hop on a quick one-on-one call, and we can tackle your business goals together.
And remember, the fatigue you are feeling has to do with uncertainty and overwhelm. Fatigue is countered by goals that, in turn, bring the certainty back into your business, and your life.
