Building the Foundation of Your Business

When it comes down to it, most houses are built the same. Sure, a home might have a neat architectural feature or a wonky-but-charming closet, or something else that makes it unique. But for the most part, all houses are the same. Walls, windows, ceilings, floors — all built on a foundation.

Did you ever notice a new community in the process of being built? All the homes appear to look the same when the foundations are being built. It’s only later, when people move in, that the exterior and interior decor really starts to vary from house to house.

Once you move in, how you decorate your house is up to you. But before you can do that, you have to trust the builders to create the right foundation.

This exact same approach goes for building and growing your wedding and creative event business.

It’s true, but here’s where people have hesitation. You might be reading this right now and thinking, “Zohe, I can’t run a business like you do… We’re two different people in two different circumstances.”

I get it — you’re worried that if you follow MY foundation for building a business you won’t be able to show up as your authentic self in your business. I’m here to tell you that couldn’t be further from the truth. Here’s why.

All of my clients are incredibly different from each other. Their businesses all have different personalities, and they all shine in their own way. But they all have ONE THING in common that makes them so successful.

A strong and sturdy foundation.

Each one of them followed the same foundation that I teach to my clients here at Six-Figure Creative Wedding & Event Pros. And that’s why their businesses are continuing to grow and be successful. Because they had the solid foundation that they set up that I teach here.

So when it comes to being able to decorate that home once the foundation is completed, don’t worry about that. You can go all out and express yourself however you want to! You just have to make sure to create the right foundation. If you don’t, your business could be unsteady, ready to fall at any moment.

Skipping this important step is one of the BIGGEST mistakes I see wedding and creative event business owners making. And it’s not just the newbies. You might have been in business for 10 years now, but I’m willing to bet that there are still some sticky points in your processes. Things that aren’t quite working, problems that keep coming up. The problem is, putting a fresh coat of paint on a bowed wall isn’t going to fix the wall magically. You need to fix the foundation.

Once you have the right foundation, you’ll have a business that can weather any storm. With the right foundation, you’ll soon have a business that allows you to hit 5 figure months and a business that feels like you.
