Mental Shifts for Approaching Your Business The Right Way

If you caught my email this week, you’ll already know I talked about an important thing for any business owner: mindset.

It all comes down to this one question:

Who do I need to be today to be congruent with the outcomes I’ve set?

(Psst…If you missed the email, email me at ciao@zohefelici.com to join the list. I share tips and insight twice weekly.)

Every day, you have a choice to make. How are you going to show up in your business?

To get where you want to go, you will have to become a different person.

For me, that means falling in love with the person I need to be WHILE I am becoming that person — not after. I do that by constantly asking and FEELING the answers to these key questions:

How am I showing up today?

Am I showing up TODAY like the person I say I want to be in the future?

Do I make decisions the way that person would?

Are my principles, my standards, my actions, in line with that person I want to become?

If not, then I have very little shot of becoming that person. As the saying goes, practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

If you’re already feeling overwhelmed by these questions, I get it. They are BIG questions, after all, and it might take some time to work through them and understand what you really want and need.

But for now, there’s a way to make the thinking a tad bit easier. Try instead answering just this one question:

Am I moving through life happily?

How you answer this question can give you quick insight into the inner workings of your business and how it affects your lifestyle outside of it. If you aren’t happy, can you pinpoint one or a few things making you so?

I use this question myself all the time in my business. It’s a great question to bring me back to the present. Do I notice myself being happy most of the day? If not, why not? What am I focusing on that is making me unhappy?

Checking in with these questions several times a day can keep you on track. They’ll allow you to be happy WHILE you are on the journey instead of waiting until WHEN.
