So, You Have A Business Goal…Now What?
When it comes to your business goals, do you just want to achieve them, or have you decided to achieve them?
It’s a small difference, but a key difference at that.
We all have goals we want to achieve. These might be business goals or fitness goals, travel goals or even personal development goals. It’s great to have goals. And it’s easy to want to achieve a goal; it’s a lot harder to actually do it.
So, how do you become someone who is a decider of dreams, not just someone who wishes for them?
One sure-fire way to achieve your goals is to create a support system. Nobody can do it alone, and if they do, it’s likely going to take a lot longer than if they had the support, and they’re going to feel burnt out pretty quickly. And who wants that?
Whether you’re struggling to get your business off the ground or you’re ready to “level up” within your business, a business coach or mentor is the just the person to help you achieve those goals. You can, of course, choose to create, manage, market and grow your business entirely on your own. But chances are, it’s going to take a lot longer, and you’re going to make a lot of avoidable mistakes on the way. Having a mentor, coach, or just someone else who understands your business can give you a space to bounce your ideas off or help your brainstorm your next steps.

3. You Need to Be Pushed
Have you ever heard of the Law of Diminishing Intent? It goes like this:
Let’s say you get a moment of clarity within your business. Maybe a coach helped you realize a blindspot, or you had a stroke of brilliance in the shower where all the best ideas come. You feel energized; you feel like you got this!
But then…you don’t do do anything about it.
Maybe you don’t know exactly what the next step is for your idea. Maybe you do know the next step, and you planned on doing it tomorrow, and then tomorrow turned into the next day. Maybe Netflix got in the way. (It does that.)
The Law of Diminishing Intent theorizes that the longer you wait to take action, the less likely you are to take action. Mentors and business coaches are there to nudge you into action. They help you strategize your ideas into manageable and actionable steps so you can clearly see the path that lies ahead.
